When two married couples – an older one with a painful past, and a younger one with an uncertain future – find their lives intertwining, infidelity threatens to tear them all apart.

Julie Christie scored an Academy Award nomination for her performance in this film, winning Best Actress at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
