BLUEBEARD (1972)
BLUEBEARD (1972)
Boasting a parade of stunning international actresses in a state of undress (including Raquel Welch as a promiscuous nun) and a kinky screenplay courtesy of the writers of SALON KITTY, BLUEBEARD is a flesh-filled macabre comedy that takes the best giallo ingredients (sex, gory violence, beautiful women being murdered in eccentric ways and a seductive score by Ennio Morricone) and serves up the ultimate Midnite Movie experience.
In this sexed-up 1970s cult classic, legendary thesp Richard Burton is slyly in on the joke playing flying ace and crypto-Nazi Baron Von Sepper. Unfortunately, the impotent and mother-fixated Baron has had a string of failed marriages - and rather than divorce he prefers to end his relationships by more violent means. His first seven wives are respectively decapitated, impaled, shot, suffocated, drowned and attacked by a trained hunting falcon! Enter his eighth wife (Hollywood ‘It girl’ Joey Heatherton) who discovers that hubby is keeping his exes bodies on ice in a walk-in refrigerator! How is she going to outwit the ultimate lady-killer?
