Cinema icons Alain Delon and Catherine Deneuve star in Le choc ("The Shock"), a slick crime thriller based on the novel The Prone Gunman by Jean-Patrick Manchette (Three Men to Kill). After years of faithful service, Parisian hitman Martin "Christian" Terrier (Delon, Le samouraï) retires for a quiet life in the country, where he falls in love with beautiful Claire (Deneuve, Belle de jour). But the boss of his former organization is not pleased with his decision. Terrier returns to the city only to find that blackmailers have stolen his nest-egg and given him an ultimatum: do one last job and he gets his money and his freedom.
